A Century Of Song Celebration Concert: 1925 - 2025

The Philharmonic Chorale is celebrating 100 years of performing chorale music.

A Celebration Fit for the Century:  This once-in-a-lifetime, centennial Celebration Concert will start with a playful homage to Star Wars, coinciding with the May 4th date—May the fourth be with you! The concert's first half will feature a selection of songs from each of the past 10 decades, paired with historical tidbits and recognition of past Chorale directors. Next, multiple Chorale ensembles will showcase their vocal prowess through various pieces. The second half promises even more variety, highlighting the group’s impressive range. The entire concert includes works from renowned composers such as J.S. Bach, Joseph Haydn, George Gershwin, Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, John Rutter, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and John Lennon. The concert will culminate in a grand finale, featuring alumni singers joining the Philharmonic Chorale. With a repertoire that spans centuries and genres, this concert will have something for everyone to enjoy. Tickets ($10) can be purchased at the door (children 5 and younger have free admission), from a Chorale member or online at www.icc.edu/arts/. Seating is unreserved.
