Kiwanis Delivers Holiday Meals

Members of the East Peoria Kiwanis Club collected and delivered food to shut-ins in the Richland Farms area in East Peoria on December 11. The Central Illinois KIDZ for Cue Sports Kiwanis Club raised $4,000 for the food drive and Richland Farms Community Center served as a distribution point.

Kiwanis Club Secretary Jenny Holzem and her husband, Scott, also a club member, have been the chairs for this project for the last few years. It started as an Angel Tree Project and the Food Drive was added three years ago. Fifty people helped someone in need through the Angel Tree and many more had a Christmas meal thanks to the Food Drive.

“Thank you Jenny and Scott and all your helpers who make these two amazing projects happen,” said Kiwanis president, Terry Cunefare.
